My style of work is Mixed media, I explored different types of painting techniques and mediums, Recently I fell in love with mixed media technique, I love the idea of layering several colors, chipboards, Pattern papers, Stamps and textures into one project, I believe in the positive effects of art as it relates to physical and emotional health. Whether creating art or simply viewing it.  


I love challenges and that's what helps me keep my creative soul to stay creative and explore new techniques, I love using different types of embellishments or papers, stamps, Chipboard embellishments and the idea of incorporating them in mixed media is amazing.

I am Gayatri, from the beautiful green state of India - Kerala. I am a mother of two young men and a homemaker. I love enjoying nature, painting, pets and listening to music. I started my crafting journey 6 years back by making quilled cards, frames, etc. to keep me occupied during my leisure time. I slowly experimented with different crafting areas like scrapbooking, decoupage, and a bit Mixed Media. My Name is Sirisha Setia. I am from Mumbai and have a 2 yr old daughter. I have a masters degree in Biotechnology and my love for art and craft started because of my daughter. Romantic Pocket Letter

Hello, my lovelies! We are at the end of June - WOW! The mood board this month is definitely about weddings and romance!

I've got my DT project for Splashy Mix that's a little romantic and a great keepsake - a pocket letter! It's one sheet of rice paper with vintage wedding-themed scenes (from ITD) that's been divided into nine ATCs which have been embellished.

 I adhered the sheet onto cardboard and cut them into ATC-sized squares that fit into a trading card plastic sleeve. 

All that's left is embellishing! When they're all in place, you see the whole page but separately, they're little works of art!

It's a great way to use up scraps of textiles or papers! And I also used some silver foil from ITD as well. 

I really love the vintage look of these wedding-themed rice papers from ITD - it's a great collection! 

This is my last post as a DT for Splashy Mix and I want to thank Shylaa Shree and the entire team for a fun experience!

Today we share an inspiration from our special Guest Designer for June.

Over to her

I am from Bombay , India

I have done my commerce graduation, fashion designing , 2D, 3D animation n web designing.

As a kid I was always connected with Art coz of my Dad n Crafts coz of my mom...

But my passion was in creating with my hands ... Did not like working on computer or gadgets...And that's how Colors-n-Creations studio was formed in 2006 where I teach different form or Art n Craft and also sell my artwork after I resigned from my corporate job .

I do different kind of Art like paintings with oil, water, acrylics,charcoal, pencil sketches, Calligraphy, warli, madhubani, kalamkari, fabric etc.

In craft I do Mixed Media, Decoupage, Altered art, flower making etc...

Creating Mandalas gives me peace and it's meditative for me so this is something I keep going to for my me time and energy n therapy.

The birdy box

Hello crafty Friends

This is Apoorva here, today I am gonna share with you my DT project with you, which is an altered sweet box, the colours of which are inspired by our beautiful moldboard...

Below is the step by step tutorial of my project:

 First I took the box along with the and covered it entirely with 3 costs of white gesso.

Once it is dried, I decoupaged gorgeous Rice paper from our sponsors ITD Collection, using mod podge.

Then I coloured my project using the colours from out moodboard 

i.e. light pink and light green, diluted with water and let them dry.

Than I stenciled a cage using cage stencil from ITD Collection and done some stamping using stamps from my stash.

Than I added silver foil from ITD Collection randomly on to my project.

Than I started arranging the embellishments on to the project and when I was happy with the arrangement, I glued everything down.

For final touch I added art stones at some places,  and it's done.

Happiness is an Inside Job

I am Aditi and I am happy to share a mix media Easel card which I made for the Splashymix Challenge June moodboard with you all.

My project is inspired by the green and white color of the moodboard. Hope you will get some inspiration to make your project.

Today I am going to share picture tutorial of how to make this Easel card.

I have used the beautiful sheet from romantic Garden series of  ITD Collection. Its very sturdy paper having lovely designs. I chose the below papers for my project.

To make an Easel card you have to take 2 cardstocks. one of the dimension 6"by 12" and other by 6"by6". This will  fianlly make our  6"by 6" card . For 6" by 12" score at 3"and 6" as shown below. 

I have taken the below paper to work with for the easel main part.I have scored the borders to give an additional texture.

I applied white embossing texture paste using stencil and heat dried it.  After heat drying it gives a very different raised texture.

I have stamped here and there. Added cheese cloth and corrugated piece. Added silver foil on the corrugated piece randomly.

Rolled pattern paper to make paper rolls.

I had put some slashes of white paint. I embellished with leaves, die cuts, flowers, pearls, stones etc.

I embossed the butterfly and colored it and made it the focal point.

I have pasted the card on the easel frame.

    I have pasted the quote here and finished the card.
