Home Decor - Altered Embroidery Hoop

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am Chaitali Dekhtawala here, sharing my project for the September month's challenge.

This month our moodboard is very pretty. Here is our current Mood Board at Splashymix Challenge.

I think the moodboard is very elegant with a vintage feel. Was inspired by all the pretty elements in the moodboard. So, I created a home decor by altering an embroidery hoop.

Creation by Chaitali

I started with decorating the embroidery hoop with the age old Macrame knot technique with jute threads for the vintage feel.

Then, attached the lace paper on the back of the embroidery hoop along with a lace border in the center of it. Also, attached a smaller embroidery hoop to the hanging jute threads. Added a crochet dolly on the frame of the smaller embroidery hoop aong with a Vintage Photo as my focal point. Then started to create the composition with the elements from the moodboard; book pages, musical notes, laces, embellishments, chipboards, flowers, twines etc.

Continued adding few flowers and a bird on the top of the hoop. Finally, finished by adding more dollies and a tassel. Lastly added more Macrame knots with jute threads to the edge of the hoop.
