Sugared Mixed Media Tag

Hello everyone!
 I'm Cathy and so happy to be a part of the 2020 DT here at Splashy Mix! The mood board this month is light and breezy with some sugar and shimmer!

My project is a mixed media tag that has soft tones with a small punch of color and lots of shimmer! I used a large G45 tag and covered it with a soft-toned piece of scrapbook paper.  I used 3 different stencils using gold wax and 2 different colors of Finnabair rust pastes. 

I also took a torn strip of light beige tissue paper, crumpled it up, and brushed it with oil to make it opaque. Then I tore it in pieces and applied them randomly. Different sizes of art stones adds texture and dimension as well. And a sentiment is always key (I think) to a tag! 

I mounted a chipboard frame covered in fine glitter using foam squares and placed it off center over a butterfly that I had added lacquer to so it would pop up. Other butterflies were lacquered and sugared with fine glitter as well. 

Flowers and sisal really adds a feminine touch. And fine glitter around the edges frames the whole thing. I gave it a good overall spritzing of Tattered Angels Iridescent Silver for all over shimmer and shine.
