Home Decor - Altered Wooden Tray

Hello crafty friends,

Chaitali here, sharing a mixed media Home Decor - Altered Wooden Tray
for our current Moodboard which is beautiful and bright with lots of elements.

I was inspired by the branches and leaves and selected the blue, teal and green colors from the Moodboard.

This month's Moodboard is below.

This month our sponsor ITD collection were to generous to send us the DT kit. So here is my project using their lovely papers and stencil.

 ITD stencil ST0074B

Crackle paste
* Acrylic Paints
* Sisal Fiber
Green Moss
* Paper Flowers
* Butterfly Die cuts
* Wires
* Tacky Glue
* Beads
* Black Ink pad
* Musical Notes Stamp

Below is the pic of the gorgeous papers & stencil by ITD Collection Scrapbook paper - Summertime in blue used in the project.

Below is the photo tutorial for this project. Firstly I covered the entire wooden tray with ITD paper using Tacky glue.

Further, using their stencil and crackle paste created the brick effect on the sides of the wooden tray.  I allowed to dry the crackle paste overnight to get the best results.

Next step was to fussy cut the different elements (birds, butterflies and flowers) from the lovely ITD paper.

Further, added some aqua blue acrylic paint with dripping and splatter effect to add the touch of blue tone. Also, colored the sides with brown acrylic to show the brick wall effect and decorated it with some green wires, leaves and flowers.

Later, started with the main focal point for that I used the fussy cut birds and flowers, lots of branches and sisal fiber (which I colored with green acrylic paint), green wire, paper flowers, leaves, green moss and also added a nest made out of sisal fiber.

Created a similar floral on the top right corner too.

Also, added fussy cut butterflies along with few die-cut butterflies. Did some musical notes stamping in the background.

Lastly, decorated the top of the tray with birds, paper flowers, die-cut butterflies, green moss, beads. Also, added a plastic flower knob in the center and attached a wire around it going upwards in a spiral shape. Lastly pasted some more butterflies with quote.

Below are more closeup pics.

Hope you all like my home decor project and it inspires you in some way to take part in this lovely challenge. Waiting to see your beautiful projects.

Best Luck & Stay Safe!
Chaitali.
