Shabby Twist Card

Hello my friends! It's April - can you believe it?! We've got a beautiful and bright mood board:

There's alot of elements you can focus on - so much variation! I focused on the greens and blues with a little bridal romance in my DT project - a twist card! Let's see how I made it!

Cut a strip of paper 20cm x 9cm and score in half.

Then mark 5.5cm on each long side and score DIAGONALLY; fold on the score lines and bring the ends towards the middle and collapse so it resembles a house. This will make your card twist when you open it.

Now cut a strip 26cm x 9cm. Mark at 6.5cm intervals making 4 sections - score and fold. This will go on the 'twister'.

Cut a last strip 28cm x 10cm and score in half. This is your card.

Now you'll decorate and put it all together!

Here's how we put it all together! Take your house piece and place the tip in the middle (5cm) and just at the crease. Glue down JUST THE TRIANGLE. Then put glue on the top triangle and press the top of the card down onto it. Then open the piece up.

Now mark the center of the card at the crease (5cm) and place the 4 section piece on top with the center line at the mark. While holding it in place, lift the left end section up; place glue ONLY ON THE BOTTOM LEFT SQUARE OF THE TWISTER STRIP and press the section down to adhere. Then do the same with the right end section, placing glue ONLY ON THE TOP RIGHT SQUARE and press the section down to adhere. Start closing the card down and the inside will twist.

ITD Collection provided the DT with some beautiful products to play with! For the outside and inside strip, I used paper from the Water Scrapbook Paper Collection

I stenciled 'I LOVE YOU' using a turquoise metallic wax and added Termoton Silver Foil on my chipboard piece. I also put it randomly on the picture to give it an overall shabby, worn look.

For the middle part, I used the Lavande de Provence Stencil with crackle paste. I added the silver foil imperfectly around the square edges.

For the top and bottom on the inside, I used this beautiful and romantic rice paper. I added foil randomly around the edges, on the headpiece, and flower, as well as randomly on the pictures themselves.

The colors and tones of the papers from ITD Collection coordinate beautifully. And the stenciling and silver foil add a little romance!
