Back to school lesson- Chalkboard

Hello Everyone,

I'm back again on SMC blog with my inspirational post for this month. This month challenge theme is back to school which remind us our childhood days.

I have made a chalk board along with magnetic pin board for my project inspired from this month moodboard. Chalkboard recall our school days memory. Here is my finish project:

                               Step by step tutorial of my project

              1. I took a leftover MDF pieces and cut the extra part. Save the extra for use it later.

                2. Then mark on the decided part where I want to make my chalkboard. 

                3. Now color the rest of area with mint green paint and deep blue chalk paint on marked areas. Why not a blue chalkboard? Its really fun to have a blue chalk board. Add jute cord all around two chalkboard portion for neat look. It also create a different texture.

                 4. For magnetic pin board i have used magnetic sheet. Cut small piece of magnetic sheet from 12*12 sheet. Place it beside small chalkboard. Add a school bag shape button on magnetic sheet with magnet stick on the back for hold any notes or pictures there.

                 5. For embellished it I have used different things like clay, stamped and hand painted images, washi tape, ribbon, beads, washi tapes, flowers, deco stones etc. I have made miniature books, pencil, eraser, notebook with air dry clay, after drying the shaped coloured them with different shades of chalk paints.

                 6. Stamped 2 images one boy and one girl on white cardstock and color them with color pencils. Fussy cut the images.

                  7. Now stick the cutting portion bellow of the base which I have cut from the base and already colored it with same mint green color. Add miniature books and pencil on it. Stick 2 stamped images on base. Use  number washi and script washi here and there and the edges of the base. Also add some star sequins randomly on the base.

                8. Punch 2 hole one on top of the base and other one is where I was cut the extra mdf piece. Add gold eyelet. on top hole tie a cream color ribbon for hand the base and on side one tie a mint green ribbon with some beads for embellish the project.

                 9. Add number and script washi tape here and there for extra interest. Also add some small flowers and deco stone for embellish the project. It's also add some texture to the project.
