Wedding layout

Hello Crafty friends,

Chaitali here. Hope you all doing great.

Sharing my project for June.

This month our moodboard is very pretty, fresh and delicate.

I was inspired by White, Green and Pink  colors from the moodboard. Also the moodboard depicts a new hope, a new beginning; which inspired me to create a kite shaped wedding  layout.

Step 1:
Started by cutting two kite shapes from 11" × 15" watercolor paper. One 1.5" smaller than the other one.

Step 2:
Then selected one of the fabulous ITD Collections Rice Paper RI539 "Just Married". I cut strips of 1.5" on all four sides for the  bigger kite shape.

Step 3:
Further, crumpled the white plain rice paper from the same pack.

Then, opened it very gently without ruining the crumple and pasted it on the small kite. Wrapped the excess paper around the edges and tapped it from behind as shown in below 2 pics.

This gave the small kite some texture as shown in below pic. Then delicately applied a thin coat of diluted Gesso to prep the surface. This is optional but advisable.

Step 4:
Then took the bigger kite, after pasting the boarders of rice paper I covered the center kite area with a lace cloth. Chose green to match the moodboard.

Step 5:
Then, outlined the lace fabric with a green Acrylic paint and also outlined the bigger kite with pink distress ink after distressing its edges. Later stamped some green leaves around the rice paper randomly on the florals.

Step 6:
Now, pasted the smaller kite on top of the bigger kite by raising it a bit to give the layout a dimension. Colored the small kite with Green Acrylic paint around the borders and slowly merging inside. Then I colored the window die cuts and chipboard with Acrylic paints and started the basic layout with them. Also added a floral white lace on one side of the smaller kite for more textures.

Step 7:
For the focal pic used a bride and groom photo, to go along with my theme of "Just Married" Rice Paper. Pasted the focal pic on the window die cut. Further, added flowers, metal leaves, and other metal embellishments.

Step 8:
Continued decorating the layout with chipboards and more flowers on the smaller kite and on the right side of the bigger kite as in the pic below.

Step 9:
Further, added more Leafy Flourish die cuts around the smaller kite with some twine as shown in the below 2 pics.

Step 10:
Lastly added the quote "Hello to new beginnings" to complement the entire look and the moodboard. Also added some stones and die cut butterflies on both the kites. Lastly, did some Pink Acrylic splatters on the bigger kite and sprinkled some glitter on the flowers.

Step 11:
Finally, added the tail to the kite with some ribbons and lace.

Hope my creation inspires you to join us in this beautiful challenge.
