Recycled wood tray

Hi crafty friends,  Maria Pilar is here sharing with you a recycled wood tray using May Moodboard. 

I love strawberries and I usually keep the wooden boxes where they come from. I need a tray for my job and decorated one of those boxes. This is my recycled work.

I have used orange acrylic paint as the background, which I covered with hand-cut pieces of tissue paper. Once dry, I gave it more color using gelatos of the colors orange, pink and green.

The decoration is made with paste highlighted with a stencil, cloth leaves, paper butterflies, felt flowers from @CreativeMinds, some sisal, gauze, jute thread and @Joy Clair stamps.

Decorating the box

Hello everyone Today I will show you how to decorate your box with cool paper and use it with pleasure. From this Board of inspiration I took a wooden print and a delicate blue color

To work, we will need a jar, soil, paper, a holder or handle for the lid and flowers with lace

the box is carefully primed, so that the paper is well glued to it and that it will last longer for us

cut two strips of paper to fit the base and lid of the box

now carefully glue to the base, smooth it well so that it is tight

Cut out the circle and stick it on the lid. In the center of the lid with the help of an awl, we make a hole and attach the holder, I additionally used a thin decorative plate for beauty

At the end, I pasted pictures, flowers, a clearing, and a circle. All this is beautiful and cute to look at as a result.

Floral Decoupage Box

Pretty in Pink - Altered Box

Hello crafty Friends,

I am Judy,  today I am  sharing with you what I created using colours and elements from this month's mood board.

For this project, I chose to alter an old Christmas card box, which I had in my stash of things to alter.

This is the box that I altered.

This is my finished project.

Here are my steps that I used to create my altered box.

painted my box with a few layers of  white gesso

created a mould using Stamperia Texture Impression - Lace and Stamperia Cream Mixed Media Paste and adhered it to the top of the box

added gems and ribbon

painted the project with Pink Chiffon Pearl acrylic paint

used Metallic Gilding Polish and Pentart Gold Wax Paste to highlight the textures

and added metal findings, moulded heart, and gold wooden birds to complete the project

Altered Wooden Tea Canister

Welcome back to our second Splashy Mix Challenge.  Judy here, with my interpretation of  our mood board for February. 

If you want to express your love for someone or something, then it's time to participate in our new challenge!

We present you our Mood board.




Here is my project, an altered wooden canister that I made for my husband's Valentine 's chocolates. 

This is what my box looked like before I altered it.

I sanded my box then removed the handle and painted the box with gesso. 

I then stamped the box with an French love poem. 

To complete my project I stenciled my box with hanging hearts and stars and  coloured it using acrylic paint, glitter glue and ink sprays, added my gems, several hearts, an Eiffel Tower to two sides. To the top of the canister I added a flower and a glass knob.

- You can create any mixed media project corresponding to the mood board and the colors presented in the mood board are also accepted.
- You can enter up to 3 entries.
