Pink Floral Garden - A Recycled Mixed Media Project

Hello Crafty Friends!
Fairuz Fabiha here from the Craftivation. Today I’ll be sharing with you my interpretation of the March  Moodboard of the Splashymix challenge.
I was inspired by the flowers and vines and the lovely pinks and greens of the moodboard
Moodboard-

I’ve recycled tissue paper rolls, cardboards, skewers for the base and plastics to make small plastic flowers out of it and use it to embellish the project. I’ve simply tried to add texture to it through stencils, texturepaste and Tim Toltz ‘Picked Raspberry’ spray stain. Then finally embellished the project with sisal, flowers, leaves, dew drops, sentiments, diecuts etc.

Altered Photo Frame

Hello crafty friends! Fairuz Fabiha here from Craftivation. Today I’ll be sharing with you a project that I created being inspired by the beautiful shades of purple & violets of the February 2020 moodboard of the Splashymix Challenge.

I have altered an old paper photo frame today. At first I primed the frame with gesso and added texture with stencils and texture paste. Sprayed diluted ink. Finally embellished the frame using die cuts, clay embellishments, sisal, cheesecloth, sentiment, flowers, pearls etc.
I used the picture of my mom as the focal point of the project.

A New Beginning - Mixed Media Tag

Hello Crafty Friends!

Fairuz Fabiha here. I’m so glad to be a part of the Splashymix Challenge design team of 2020.
Here’s my take on the January 2020 moodboard.

I have been inspired by the lovely soft tones, flowers, glitters and window element of the moodboard.
I have used the Ranger Manila Tag as the base and added different textures using stencils and Golden Crackle Paste. Colored the background using Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain and to mute the colors down a  little bit, I layered it with a mixture of diluted gesso and pearl paint.
Then added the window, flowers, leaves, birds and sisal to create the flocal point and added some metallic highlights here and there. Finally finished it of with some neon pink dewdrops by the Robin’s Nest.

For the sentiment, I used “A new beginning” referring to the start of a new year and also the beginning of my journey as a design team member of the splashymix challenge.
